North Carolina Getaway

Kaden was always amusing Ramsey

Kaden loved to push Ramsey in his stroller

Kaden attempts to take mine and Tara's pic as we try to enjoy the wine tasting.

Kendall & I at the Barnyard. Petting the horses.

Kaden, Kendall & I outside of the Biltmore House

This weekend we went along w/ Keith to his show in Asheville, NC. But this time it was a little more eventful b/c our friends Tara & Cope and their little boy Ramsey came along as well. We stayed right next to the Biltmore House and Village so Tara & I, along w/ the 3 kids, spent our afternoons at the Biltmore touring the winery, barn yards, gardens, shops, and some of the house itself. We even fit in a little swimming at the indoor pool at our hotel. The evenings were the best though as we all got to go out to dinner and the kids were cooperative for the most part. All in all a great weekend, although there was the 3 minutes when I got stung by a hornet and a glass bottle of salad dressing broke on me......( I think there was a ghost haunting me at the Biltmore Winery :) The ride home w/ the 3 kids and Tara & I had its moments of pure insanity w/ the kids crying, but all in all a great weekend.

Two big firsts for Kendall

Kendall reached some major baby milestones this week. On monday she figured out how to clap her hands...so now everything is yeah for Kendall :) But the biggest moment happened on Wednesday when I was packing for yet another getaway in Kadens room and Kendall was playing w/ Kaden's old fisher price car wash. Kaden was in the tub and I was in his closet and he started yelling from the bathroom- "mommy look at Kendall". I rush in and she had pulled herself up on the toy and was standing there like look at me. She then did it a couple more times w/ the camera ready. It won't be long and she will be on the move.

Fieldtrip to the Firehouse

On Tuesday we took a field trip to the Firestation w/ Kendalls Kindermusic group. It was Kadens 4th or 5th trip, but he still loved it and liked the puppet show this time (he had been scared of them before :) It was of course Kendalls first field trip so we all went and it was a nice day so ate lunch outside afterwards. The only mishap was that Kaden managed to get grease all over his hands and on his new shirt, which I'm still trying to get out!

My babies are getting so big. Kendall will be 8 months next week and Kaden just turned 4 last month. I know it has been forever since my last post. Raising two kids is no easy task and there never seems to be enough hours in the day. However, every time I look at Tara's blog I'm inspired to keep up w/ ours.

This pic is from our most recent get away to the Grand in Pointe Clear, Al., which was a brief stop on another trip to new orleans.
