Not Enough Time in the Day

I think my head may possibly spin off! But in a good way...if thats possible. I'm so busy I don't know which direction to head in. This morning started with getting up 40 minutes after the alarm went off so we all went in to pure panic mode. Keith was trying to get out the door to get to the gym before work and decided to bring Kendall with him so we had to get her fed and dressed in about 20 minutes, which is not fun w/ a one year old who thinks the world revolves around her. Then we had our cleaning company coming to the house so I had to get the house picked up for them to clean!...beds stripped, start wash, etc.(I know...poor me...it could be so much worse...I could actually have to clean my house!) Then it was time for Kaden and I to hurry up and get ready to go on a field trip which involved me being out in nature on a hike...not quite my cup of tea, but Kaden and his classmates had a blast. Then it was back home to meet the babysitter, a quick change of clothes and off to meet a good friend for a quick lunch. Then to the store to check in shipments and return calls for 30 minutes. Off to the doctor for an appointment (that will require a whole new post...I'm on strep throat #3 for the year!). Then back to the store to get merchandise priced and ready for our ribbon cutting ceremony tomorrow. Kids and Keith arrived at store...time to drop Kaden off at choir. Then to dinner. Then to grocery store. Finally home....bath, laundry, clothes picked out for tomorrow, dishes, banking and I'm so tired I thought why not blog about my craziness! :) Time to go kiss my sleeping beauties upstairs and call it a day! Tomorrow is a whole new adventure.

I just had to share these pictures of Kendall and Kaden from last week. We got in a partially sunny day...just warm enough to get outside and snap a few pictures after church. These two kiddos definitely keep me on my toes and I'm exhausted most of the time, but I wouldn't have it any other way. Just look at how cute they are....who couldn't help falling in love with them :)

Kaden turns 5

My little man turned 5 this past month and we celebrated w/ a trip to Washington DC followed by a magical birthday party back home and then a trip to Charleston. I still can't believe we managed to pull it all off.
Kaden had wanted a wizards/magic party so we hired a magician to entertain the kids, the cake was a top hat w/ a rabbit coming out of it, their were trick cards decorating all the tables and a sea of red, blue and black balloons. His current favorite place to eat is Moe's so we had it catered w/ a taco bar, which was a huge success. I had sent out about 35 invites but you never know how to prepare but I always like to have too much than not enough....and this time it paid off. We must have had 35 kids in the basement plus their parents, grandparents, etc. It was a huge turnout for a Tuesday evening but we couldn't have been happier to see everyone. And I will never forget the pure joy and excitement every time I looked at Kaden's face. The magician was wonderful captivating all those kids and even had a live bunny and made everyone balloon animals. We finished off the night giving everyone a stuffed bunny, top hat, magic wand and glow in the dark stars to take home w/ them. Then as it cleared out we went upstairs to let Kaden open his presents...it was like Christmas! Thank you to all of you who attended and to those who didn't make it I hope you enjoy the pictures.

Kissing Frogs

I have been a horrible blogger lately! I can't believe I have gone so far inbetween posts....and I have so much to share. My distant family may think I have fallen off the face of the Earth. Instead I have become a children's boutique owner! I bought out a local store here in Cartersville and have spent almost every waking minute of the last three weeks ordering, remodeling, buying and shopping! The Atlanta Mart has become my new home and children's clothing is literally what I dream about. Yesterday was my first day open for the 'grand opening week!' And although the store is not stocked completely yet (I'm still waiting on a lot of shipments to come in) I must pat myself on the back and take a breather. I woke up early this morning grinning b/c I may just have found my calling! I get to do something I love that involves my passion for fashion and best of all include my children. Kaden and my niece Saige both think they are employees! Kendall just adores the babies that have been stopping by! And the night after I purchased the store we all sat down to dinner and Kaden whispered in my ear..."Mommy, I have a special surprise for you." Then he handed me a dime and said..."this is money to help you with your new store...I love you." Melt my heart! That dime has now been treated like the hope diamond...locked away in a safe spot so I can remember this rollercoaster and just how grateful I am to have this opportunity.
The new store is called Kissing Frogs Children's Boutique in downtown Cartersville. I'm grateful to have two wonderful employees to work the store but I will definitly be a presence and working hard behind the scences to bring Cartersville and the surrounding areas the best in newborn, toddler and kids clothing and accessories! If you are a member of facebook look up Kissing Frogs and become a fan to stay uptodate on the store.
This really would not have been possible w/out my family and a few wonderful friends who have bent over backwards for me in the last few weeks. Words are not enough to thank my my Mom, my best friend Tara and her uber talented Mom who created my logo, and my new block neighbor Hannah from Gigi's. Most of all my husband who has given me the ability to make this happen and tried 'his very best' to be understanding of all my hard work and late hours!
